Aga Cleaning
AGA cleaning is one of the questions I get asked most often — and it’s one of the hardest to answer with a single number. Here’s why, and what you can realistically expect to pay if you’re in Norfolk.
The ballpark figures
As a rough guide, a two-oven AGA comes in at around £150. A four-oven AGA is broadly around £200. Those aren’t fixed prices — they’re a starting point for the conversation.
Why AGAs are always quoted individually
A standard single oven is a standard single oven. An AGA is not. I’ve cleaned two-oven models, three-oven models, four-oven models with gas hobs, four-oven models with electric hobs, Rayburns, and everything in between. The size, configuration and condition all affect how long the job takes — and that’s what drives the price.
No two jobs are the same
The most unusual job I’ve done in Norfolk was a property with two two-oven AGAs physically stacked together, plus a separate two-oven electric model alongside them. Six oven interiors, multiple sets of lids and top plates, and several hours of work. There’s no standard price that covers that — which is exactly why we quote every AGA individually priced.
What affects the price
The main factors are the number of ovens, whether there’s a gas or electric hob on top, and the condition of the appliance. An AGA that hasn’t had a professional clean in several years takes longer than one cleaned annually. We don’t charge extra for neglect, but it does affect the time involved.
What’s included
We clean the oven interiors, the lids, top plates, front panels and surrounding enamel surfaces. All removable racks and trays are cleaned as part of the service. We use 100% caustic-free, biodegradable products throughout — important with AGA enamel, which needs careful handling and is damaged by caustic based cleaners such as Mr Muscle, Oven Pride etc
Does my AGA need to be off?
Yes — switched off and completely cool before we arrive. For oil-fired and electric models that usually means turning off the night before. Call us when you book and we’ll confirm what’s needed based on your model.
